Madonna's Sticky & Sweet tour grossed $408m

"According to the [LiveNation], the now-ended Sticky & Sweet tour grossed a massive $408 million, the highest-ever for a solo artist. After starting in August of 2008, the train reached its last station in Tel Aviv after 85 shows, 3.5 million fans, and visits to 32 countries. "Madonna has proven yet again that there is virtually no limit to what she can accomplish both creatively and commercially," effused Arthur Fogel, Chairman of Global Music and CEO of Global Touring at Live Nation.
Indeed, this is one of those rare, money-gushing machines that managed to set records through the worst of times. Now, Live Nation is positioning itself to benefit from a string of future windfalls. The latest tour tops an earlier record set in 2006, when Madonna grossed $194 million on her Confessions Tour. Overall, the Rolling Stones still claim the highest-grossing tour of all time - the massive Bigger Bang trek netted $558 million."
